A partnership between the WTR Team and Ten10 Racing in 2011 will see an exciting new project field an Italian and an Indian rider in the 125cc World Championship.
The WTR Team has officially announced a new technical and commercial partnership with Indian team Ten10 Racing which will commence in 2011, bringing an exciting new project to the 125cc category.
The team partnership, which will be named WTR-Ten10 Racing and is structured on a three-year basis, will continue into the new Moto3 class in 2012 and also has intentions to compete in the Moto2 category in the future. Excitingly for the 125cc category the new collaboration will also provide an Italian and an Indian rider on the 2011 grid, signifying the first participation for the Asian country in the World Championship.
“I’m extremely happy with this agreement with Ten10 Racing,” said Loris Castellucci, WTR Team Principal. “It’s the start of a very important project which will give us the opportunity to compete in the World Championship with a talented young Indian rider, which will be a first. There will also be a well-known young Italian rider too, who will be announced in due course. This has been made possible thanks to Ten10 Racing and I thank them for believing in us, and for the passion and commitment they bring to this project.”
Ten10 Racing Team Principal, Ramji Govindarajan, said: “I’m extremely excited by the opportunity we have been afforded through the WTR Team. After a cracking season in 2010 FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championships, Ten10 Racing India Pvt Limited is proud to announce its provisional entry into the 2011 Moto GP 125CC Championships.
Ten10 has partnered with WTR Team, a San Marino based 125CC/Moto 2 team and christened as WTR-Ten10 Racing for the next 3 years. They will have one Indian and one Italian rider in the team and their names will be announced shortly.

MotoGP: Mahindra plots Indian entry into MotoGP
NEW DELHI: Indian auto maker Mahindra and Mahindra said on Monday that it would enter a team in the 2011 MotoGP Grand Prix world championships, a further sign of the country's growing motorsport ambitions .
The Mahindra team will compete in the 125cc class, which is a stepping stone for young riders on their way to the premier class of the competition that has been dominated recently by Italian star Valentino Rossi.
"We are planning a Mahindra team for next year, but have not finalised any details yet," a company spokesman told AFP, confirming Indian press reports. "We hope to formally announce our intentions shortly."
MotoGP holds an 18-series annual championship in which bikes from manufacturers including Ducati, Yamaha, Honda and Suzuki currently compete.
Each Grand Prix event has separate races in 125cc, Moto2 and the premier MotoGP categories.
India will host its first Formula One race next October at a new circuit on the outskirts of New Delhi. The country also fields its own Formula One team, Force India, owned by liquor and airline magnate Vijay Mallya.

TVS Motor sells 195,271 units, posts 48% growth in October 2010
Scooters grow 58%; Motorcycles up 49%; Domestic Sales up 47%; Exports grow 45%;
Hosur, November 1, 2010: Robust demand for its products across all segments of the two and three wheeler industries has enabled TVS Motor Company to post a total sales growth of 48% in October 2010. The company registered total sales of 195,271 units in October 2010 against 131,941 units in October 2009. Cumulative total sales for the period April to October 2010 therefore stood at 1,184,065 units.
Two Wheeler
During the month, total two wheeler sales of the company grew by 46% with sales of 191,822 units against 131,029 units registered in October 2009.
Cumulative two wheeler sales for the period April to October 2010 increased 34% with sales of 1,162,861 units over 868,509 units in April to October 2009.
Domestic sales of the company grew significantly by 45% with sales growing from 118,563 units in October 2009 to of 173,771 units in October 2010.
Scooter sales led the growth quotient with a substantial increase of 58% from 28,301 units in October 2009 to 44,659 units in the current month. Motorcycles sales too grew by an impressive 49% with sales increasing from 56,465 units in October 2009 to 84,233 units in October 2010.
Exports registered a growth of 45% with sales increasing from 12,466 units in October 2009 to 18,051 units in October 2010.
Three Wheeler
The company sold 3,449 units of three wheelers in October 2010 against 912 units in the comparable period of the previous year. Cumulative three wheeler sales for the period April '10 to October '10 stood at 21,204 units, a growth of 232% over the same period of the previous year.

TVS Motor Company Q2 Revenue Grows 43 %
PBT grows 181 %; PAT grows 123 %
Bengaluru 21 Oct, 2010: A complete portfolio complemented by sales from new and existing products has led to a robust increase in TVS Motor Company's domestic and export sales across all categories during the second quarter of the current fiscal. This has enabled the company to achieve a revenue growth of 43% during the quarter with sales revenue growing from Rs. 1130 crores in the quarter ended September 2009 to Rs.1616 crore in the quarter ended September 2010.
Profit before tax, during the quarter under review, grew at 181% from Rs. 24 crore recorded in September 2009 to Rs. 68 crore in the current quarter. Profit after tax grew by 123% from Rs. 25 crore in the previous comparable quarter to Rs.55 crore in the quarter under review.
Total two-wheeler sales of the company grew at 32% in the current quarter, increasing from 3.91 lakh units in the second quarter of the previous year to 5.17 lakh units in the current quarter. Motorcycle sales grew at 35% from 1.55 lakh units in the quarter ended September 2009 to 2.10 lakh units in the reporting quarter. Scooters continued to grow substantially at 45% from 0.86 lakh units in the quarter ended September 2009 to 1.25 lakh units in the current quarter.
Two wheeler exports registered 67% growth with sales increasing from 35 thousand units in the quarter ended September 2009 to 59 thousand units in the current quarter.
Three wheeler sales during the quarter grew 202% from 3259 units in the quarter ended September 2009 to 9826 units in the quarter ended September 2010.
PT TVS Motor Company Indonesia registered total two wheeler sales of about 11,000 units during the first half of the current year in comparison with 7,300 units recorded in the same period of the previous year. Exports accounted for 2,300 units. The product portfolio of the company continued to receive good response from consumers in the region. Presently, the company has around 130 dealerships across Indonesia and plans to expand its network to around 220 by March 2011.

TVS Motor reports highest sales in September 2010; grows 31%
Exports grow 89%; Scooters grow 44%; Motorcycles up 34 %; Domestic Sales up 25%
Hosur, October 1, 2010: TVS Motor Company continued to maintain an impressive year-on-year growth with total sales of 188,005 units in September 2010 against 143,753 units registered in September 2009. Monthly sales of the company grew by 31%. Cumulative total sales for the period April to September 2010 therefore stood at 988,794 units.
Two Wheeler
During the month total two wheeler sales of the company grew 30% with sales of 184,783 units against 142,553 units recorded in September 2009.
Cumulative two wheeler sales for the period April to September 2010 increased 32% with sales of 971,039 units against 737,480 units in April to September 2009.
Domestic sales witnessed a growth of 25% with sales of 165,418 units in September 2010 against 132,281 units in September 2009.
Scooter sales of the company increased significantly, growing 44% with sales of 43,086 units in the month of September 2010 from 29,984 units in September 2009. Motorcycles accounted for 81,381 units against 60,718 units in September 2009, a growth of 34%.
Exports witnessed 89% growth in sales. The company exported 19,365 two wheelers in September 2010 in comparison with 10,272 units in September 2009.
Three Wheeler
The company sold 3,222 units of three wheelers in September 2010 against 1,200 units in the comparable period of the previous year. Cumulative three wheeler sales for the period April '10 to September '10 stood at 17,755 units, a growth of 224% over the same period of the previous year.
